About STEA
Empowering SMMEs in Tourism
The Small Tourism Enterprise Association (STEA) is a non-profit company whose primary mission is to empower SMME’s through engagement, employment, and participation in the tourism industry within the entire country.
As the industry’s unified voice of the SMME’s, we prioritize high-impact issues that are important to our collective membership. Not only do we identify the industry’s biggest opportunities and challenges, but we also create the messages and actions that will drive positive growth for the SMME’s.
We advocate for change that will advance and elevate our members within the industry.
OUR BACKGROUND
Empowering SMMEs in Tourism
Several common challenges to SMME’s development in tourism in South Africa as a whole have been identified. A number of critical issues have been identified as challenges, including market access and engagements; business management skills; access to ICT and infrastructure; skills and training; finance; regulation; and insufficient institutional support.
